Gata Brass Band was born in the summer of 2018 founded by Diego M. Pecharromán who brought together several members of the Clasijazz Big Band and other professional musicians from Almería (Andalusia, south of Spain) to create a band inspired by the ‘brass bands’ of New Orleans.
Gata Brass Band arises with a double purpose.
- To value and spread the rich rhythmic variety of Funk, Jazz and New Orleans music to bring greater diversity to the cultural offerings of society.
- To offer a show that allows the public to scape and fully enjoy the music. We want them to become an important part of the show by singing, dancing and interacting.
Since then they have been playing in theaters and streets all around Spain and have participated in festivals such as the Castellón International Jazz Festival, Almuñecar International Jazz Festival “Jazz en la costa”, “We love jazz” circuit or “Illuminating with jazz” platform in Almería.
Gata Brass Band brings together among its members several generations of highly trained musicians from the Almería ‘jazz’ scene and with a long career in performance and different professional musical projects.
Innovation, virtuosity and creativity are the foundation of this band that seeks above all to have fun with the crowd.
